Hello and welcome! I'm Lindsay, and I'm delighted to introduce you to Ballystockart Cottages – a family business that's been close to our hearts for over two decades.

Our Story
Ballystockart has been part of our family's journey since the 1990s, when my parents and grandparents took on an ambitious project that would become our passion. In 2000, we opened our doors to guests, transforming a beautiful 17th-century building – originally a working cornmill and stabling – into the self-catered accommodation we offer today. We're local to the area and live beside the cottages, so we're always nearby if you need us.
The Cottages
We have two properties, each with its own character and charm. Affectionately known as "the Wee House" and "the Cornmill," both cottages have been lovingly restored to preserve their original features while embracing a modern, comfortable style. Walking into these spaces, you'll find centuries-old character meeting contemporary convenience – the best of both worlds.

The Perfect Location for Your Home Away from Home
What makes Ballystockart special is its unique position. We're nestled in peaceful countryside on Hillhead Road, just off the A22 between Comber and Dundonald, yet we're only 8 miles from Belfast city centre. Whether you're an expat coming home to visit family, tourists exploring Northern Ireland, locals looking for a countryside escape, or family visiting loved ones in the area, our location offers the tranquility of rural life with easy access to everything you need.
Your Stay, Your Way
We believe every guest is different, and we follow your lead. Some guests love a chat and local recommendations, while others prefer complete privacy – we're happy either way. We offer seamless, no-contact check-in and check-out for your convenience, and we can be as hands-on or hands-off as you'd like. Our goal is simple: to make you feel at home while giving you the space and freedom to enjoy your stay exactly as you wish.

Experience Local
From exploring Comber's charming town square and local cafés to hiking through Scrabo Country Park, visiting Castle Espie on Strangford Lough, or taking the short drive into Belfast for shopping and culture, you're perfectly positioned to experience the very best of County Down.
We're so glad you've found us, and we can't wait to welcome you to Ballystockart Cottages. Browse our website to see more of what we offer, and when you're ready, we'd be honoured to invite you to your home away from home.
